I live in a major city and don’t have a car so carrying large bags of dog food while walking isn’t easy. I would like to switch to a better dog food and I’m in the process of finding the right food for my dog, but would prefer it to be shipped to my apartment. Is there a great website out there that has different foods ( I’ll be switching her food often to ensure balance) or do I go through the website of the brand itself?

She’s a 7 year old sheltie, who is a bit over weight and currently a little less active than she should be. She’s also been having some problems with her teeth (they’re very dirty). Does anyone have any advice? I was thinking about putting her on Nutro Max dog food, and mixing the weight loss formula with the tartar control formula, and possibly the senior dogs 5 years+ (all of this is hard food). Does this sound good?

Many dog owners treat their pets as though they are their own children. They play with them, let them live inside and sit on the furniture, and even sometimes sleep in their beds. There is no denying the love most dog owners have for their pets, but sometimes they unwittingly cause health problems by feeding their canine pals table scraps rather than dog food.

While the occasion table scraps as treats probably won’t hurt one’s furry friends, what a pet dog really needs for proper nutrition is dog food. It’s true that the ancestors of today’s dogs hunted and ate meat. And feeding a dog the occasional meat hunk or carcass probably won’t hurt. But today’s dogs are thoroughly domesticated and are different creatures. Constant table food can cause obesity and even a form of diabetes in dogs.

Dog food is designed with the necessary proteins and other vitamins and minerals dogs need to be healthy. Just like humans, dogs can experience clogged arteries and heart attacks. It’s important to include dog food in the diet in order to keep man’s best friend in prime health.

There are many types of dog food. There are many scientifically designed varieties meant to address different aspects of canine health. Some dog food targets the coat, some target joints. There is a type of dog food for nearly any dog. There are even breed-specific foods, as well as foods designed for the different ages of dogs.

Proper care of one’s dog can result in years of pleasant companionship and beautiful memories. The therapeutic effects owning a pet are well documented. Pets can help teach children responsibility. However, not taking care of this fellow creature can result in heartbreak and regret. Dogs need regular exercise, lots of love, and minimal access to table scraps. What the healthy dog really needs to eat is dog food.

I keep seeing those advertisements for Pro Plan and it made me wonder if it is a better dog food. Do you think now that they have added tender pieces of shredded kibble to their old formula that my dogs would like that better than Canidae? Since the formula has been changed do you think they made it better quality. My guess is no but I thought I would ask. Thanks

A Natural raw dog food recipe is the best thing for you to make for your dog when you want to provide them a natural diet. Many pet owners do not know about the great benefits that a natural diet can offer their pets or what kind of things should be included in a natural diet. This is where a good raw dog food recipe comes into play.

Dogs are basically hunters by nature but they have been changed to be domestic animals. Since the dog no longer has any need to hunt for food because of the owners feeding them each day, the canine miss out on the raw meat they grew to enjoy. A raw dog food recipe can assist the owner in creating a meal for their canine that gives them the right amount of what they need without all the junk that goes into the typical store brand dog food.

It is essential that dogs get a raw dog food recipe to keep them healthy. In the wild, the hunt produces raw meat that is not cooked like the food is today. Cats can also be fed a raw diet as they come from the same background as the dogs in that they are natural predatory animals.

Ingredients included in a raw dog food recipe might be a raw meat of some kind, pureed vegetables, whole grains which have been cooked, oil, and others. The raw meat is usually form raw chicken or beef.

A raw dog food recipe gives large benefits to your animal. It helps to increase their energy level, a healthy running immune system and digestive tract, teeth and gums that are cleaner looking, skin and coats that appear healthier, and stools that move easier.

Your dog will love this new diet made from the natural things they need and have been deprived of for so long. It gives them a natural diet they can benefit from. By providing your canine with a natural raw dog food recipe each day, you are taking the additives, fillers, preservatives, and other harsh ingredients that could rob him of extra years. So leave the commercial Dog food and prepare Natural raw dog food recipe at home only.

She’s not protective of her everyday dog food, but she’s protective of everything else. Rawhide bones, toys, wet dog food, etc. She used to be protective of her everyday food, but she got over that.

She’s a 10 year old Lab mix who we got as a puppy from the pound. She is fine when it comes to my other dog near her food, but not people. How do I fix this?

ps – I don’t want to get professional help if I can avoid it.
She doesn’t ever actually play with toys anymore, so that’s not really an issue.

Lets face it, do we really know what goes into the food that we feed to our dogs.Personally, I had no idea until I started doing a little research on exactly what goes into the making of dog food. After reading certain articles written by doctors, I was shocked to find out that most dog foods were all made with a variety of unhealthy chemicals. At this point it is clearly not a secret, but it again still needs to be pointed out to those people who are great animal lovers, with dogs being in particular. Having read this, I decided to go about doing a small amount of research on how I could go about making my own healthy homemade dog food, just to experiment and change my dogs diet. This is when I came across a website after a great deal of searching which was created by a doctor himself who was marketing his own dog food recipe book for dog owners. The guide contains some 250+ home made dog food recipes which exclude the usage of harmful products which are infamous for mineral deficiencies. The guide does not only contain healthy dog food recipes but also other aspects of keeping your dog healthy such as:

1. Healthy dog food recipes for both younger and older dogs

2. Natural recipe to keep fleas away

3. Gourmet Biscuit recipes

4. Dozens of recipes for delicious, economical, healthful dog food

5. Various other treats

Just like I do,I’m sure most of you who care greatly for your dogs have probably spent hours talking to dog experts,as well as reading many books on dogs in order to get the sort of information available in this guide. So before you go and spend more money on expensive vets and other dog experts, do yourself a favour and take a look at my personal homepage which talks more about this dog food guide.I’m sure it will be worth your while to try this ebook, because by the time you have finished reading this guide, you will probably know more than the professionals know about what really makes a dog healthy.

If you desire the very finest of health for your canine companion, you should be aware that choosing a natural balance dog food is the path forward. Whilst you might not be mindful of this reality, the overall well being of your dog has a great deal to do with the constituents used to make up his or her food.

The ingredients of all commercially produced dog foods are listed on the label of the packaging and this is the place you should start when choosing what you give your dog to eat.  These components are detailed in the order of amount with the highest percentage of the overall product at the top, and the least at the bottom of the list.

Products showing meat and vegetables as the highest percentage on the label should be the recipe you are looking for. Try to avoid dog foods that state they contain such foods as chicken meal, fishmeal and other meat meals as these are not meat; they are simply by products from those animals. Such by products could be from the fur or feathers of the animal or even fish scales in the case of fish meal, so it is best to steer clear of foods with their main ingredient as “meals”.

A natural balance dog food should be one that contains no chemicals.  However, within the wide range of commercially produced food for dogs, these are few and far between as the majority of this type of dog food contains preservatives, flavorings and colorings of a chemical nature.

So how do you find the best kind of dog food?  Well, you could start by taking a little time to carry out some research of your own.  You will discover that natural dog foods only use healthy ingredients and this promotes a shiny coat, bright eyes, as well as ensuring the perfect functioning of the internal organs.

If you want to insure a happy and healthy life for your best friend a natural balance dog food comprising of meat and vegetables, raised or farmed by organic processes is what is required and this way you will be supplying your dog with the very best food you possibly can.
