Most of the owners are aware of health risk by providing commercial food to their dogs. Commercial food is easy to make and convenient for the owners. But to ensure better health and growth there is no alternative of homemade food.

Making food for dogs in the home is not just enough. Provide the proper ingredients in the food are also important. Protein and vitamin is very much essential in dog’s food to protect them from diseases and strength their muscles. As like human being, dogs also prefer variations in their food menu. So owners should keep in mind that they have to make different kind of foods so their pets enjoy the meal.

Dogs choose food by smelling. Meat is most preferred by dogs. But owners should provide vegetable beside meat to ensure perfect diet for their dogs. Dogs need different nutrition’s to become healthy. Providing food with a combination of meat, vegetable and carbohydrates are important. Salt should not mix in dog’s food as animal do not need salt in their diet.

Making foods in the home for dogs is not a difficult job. Also it saves money as well. There are some important factors, owners should know. Foods should be served at room temperature. Foods should not serve from refrigerator or hot from the stove.

Homemade dog food is important for many reasons. Owners can ensure the proper vitamin and minerals in the food; dogs can be protected from many diseases which might cause by commercial foods. Dogs also prefer homemade foods and it’s cheap than commercial foods.

I feed my dog homecooked food with Solid Gold vitamin supplements. I cook chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, carrots and broccolli together. (Veggies change from week to week and I somtimes add liver). This diet consist of 1/3rd meat, 1/3rd rice, 1/3rd veggies. I make crunchy home made dog biscuits with wheat germ and brewers yeast for treats. My dog appears very healthy and full of energy but I am wondering if this diet is really better for my dog than commercial dog food? I was feeding my dog California Natural lamb rice dry dog food (a high quility dog food) until the last couple of months. Now she is completely on homemade food. I am wondering if she is missing any thing in her diet. Any suggestions?

Whatever you feed your dog, make sure that your dog food recipe contains a blend of good ole’plain brown rice well cooked and garnished with yummy yummy chicken or turkey without the bones of course and make sure the chicken is real. your dog will go gaga on the breast of chicken,and for turkey give them the dark part of it and see them wag that tail to your delight.Organically blended meat is also good for your dog if you can lay your hand on any.

Never feed your dog on food preservatives.Your dog is your best friend.

my dog has a skin irritation (theres yeast present) and she is on antibiotics and has to be bathed every 5 days with a special shampoo. My vet said try a different dog food but he didn’t want to prescribe anything yet. we’re doing meds first, but I do want to change her food. she’s eating Beneful for mature dogs now but that may be one of the causes. can anyone recommend a good dry dog food.
