Ceasar dog food is pure garbage. Do not feed that to your dog and learn about how to read dog food labels. Cheap is not good adn expensive does not mean quality. It is up to you to figure it out by learning what the ingredients are and what they mean.

ALL natural, Holistic… Just BUZZ words. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that it doesnt matter if the corn is all natural in the food.. The question is .. IS it all Natural for a dog to eat corn? NOOOOOOOO. SO don’t let phrases and words fool you. These are all selling tactics by the food companies. They are out to make money. Its all gimic and crap when you look and think outside the box and beyond the words!

OH I’m sorry, I thought you wanted to learn something. My bad! lol

Follow this link and go to the tools…there is a wonderful pet food comparison tool that you can use to find out what is in different brands of food and what the ingredients actually are. I personally feed my dogs and cats California Natural.

Yes, there are many all natural foods that are the best you can possibly get for your dog but the problem is that they simply aren’t available everywhere. I understand that I lot of people don’t like the brand because of some of their practices in the past, but I feed my Aussie Cattle Dog Iams. Bottom line, use a good nutritious dog food that is readily available in your area. Sure, canidae and Innova are awesome but, regardless of cost, they simply aren’t readily available everywhere. I hope this helps.

Did you check?

As far as price – better foods = feeding less because they have less fillers. In addition – they poop less – look at the cost per serving and you will be suprised that they work out to close to the same price.

Plus – think of all the vet bills you will save money on. You’ll be much less likely for demonic mange, allergies, skin problems, rashes, cancer, etc. in the future.

Lesson #1 on choosing a good dog food: don’t chose based on the packaging and/or advertising you see.

Read the ingredients on the food you buy. Go with a high quality dog food. A grain should not be in the first couple ingredients ingredient (corn and such are mainly fillers, dogs don’t digest it well). Avoid foods that have a lot of by products listed.

Here is an article about byproducts:

And an article on what ingredients to avoid:

I prefer feeding dry food. It’s better on the teeth than wet food is. If you want to feed wet food, go with a quality food like Innova EVO canned foods. (You can get Innova EVO canned foods that are 95% meat. )

Here are some reviews of Cesar dog food:

They all start with the same basic ingredients, here are 4 or the top 5 ingredients:
Sufficient Water for Processing — food is mostly water
Beef By-Products — random leftover beef parts
Meat By-Products — random leftover mystery-meat parts
Poultry By-Products — random leftover mystery-bird parts

Some GOOD foods are :
* Merrick -
* Solid Gold -
* Canidae -
* Timberwolf -
* Orijen -
* Wellness -
* Chicken Soup brand -
* Blue Buffalo -
* Innova -
* Innova EVO -

Or check this website for good foods:
(I recommend only feeding foods rated 4, 5, or 6 stars. Anything 3 stars or less, I would stay away from.)

Stay away from grocery stores brands. They are low-quality foods chalk full of fillers, preservatives, dyes, etc.. (Grocery store foods are those like Beneful, Old Roy, Alpo, Pedigree, Purina, etc.)

Beware premium foods. Premium does not mean good nutritionally, and is not a nutritionally high quality food. It has the same types of ingredients as grocery store foods, just a bit better quality of those not-so-good ingredients. (Premium foods are those like Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, etc..)

Another thing to be wary of: A lot of vets will recommend what they sell in their office. They get profit from the brands they keep on their shelves, that’s why they push it. Truth is, vet schools don’t focus a lot on nutrition. It’s not saying that a vet is a bad vet because he recommends those foods, a lot of vets just are told this is good food, so they pass the message along without proper nutrition knowledge. Also, some dog food brands (like Hills) support vet schools, so vets have heard of it from the time they start college, which makes them think it’s good as well.

Higher quality food may seem more expensive at first, but it evens out. The higher quality the food, the less fillers eaten (and therefore the less poop comes out the other end). Your dog eats more to try to get the nutrition it needs, and most of the food just passes right on through. Also, it will make your animals healthier, so you save money on vet bills in the long run.

Big box petstores like Petco and Petsmart rarely have quality foods. Also, grocery stores and Walmart aren’t good places to buy food either.

Your best bets for getting quality dog food are:
- small, locally owned petstores
- dog boutiques
- farm supply stores

When switching foods, do it gradually. I do this over about a two week timespan:
25% food A, 75% food B
50% food A, 50% food B
75% food A, 25% food B
100% food A
.

To be perfectly honest with you, Ceasar Dog Food is one of the worst foods you can feed your dog, not worth the money, and not a healthy food. Canidae on the other hand, is not only one of the best foods, and extremely healthy for your dog, and it is very reasonably priced, for such a high quality food. I feed my dogs Canidae All Life Stages, and they have never been sick, have beautiful coats, are very energetic, and my Chihuahuas absolutely love it. Canidae is not sold in a lot of stores, but if you go to this site,, and go to the store locator link, type in the city you live in, and it will bring up all of the stores in your area, that carry Canidae!
