Thanks in advance!

In my opinion and experience, Science Diet is the best choice in pet food available.
kibbles n bits or beniful my dog loves them
.
Science Diet is completely overpriced for the low quality it is, if you are going to feed that, save the money and buy Purina. Go to the site above and you can learn all about dog food and pick a good one in your price range.
Any food that has meat as its NUMBER ONE ingredient. Not meat by product, real meat, chicken, beef, lamb, ect. Avoid the foods with corn, rice and soy for these ingredients hold no nutritional value and are just used as fillers to fill your dog up. I would look for Innova, Evo, and Costco’s Kirkland brand (not sure of the name). There are many more great foods but with Innova and Evo your dog will eat less because the ingredients are all natural like veggies, real meat and stuff like that that easily fill your pup. And therefor he’ll go potty less too!
i feed my dogs pedigree. They have beautiful coats and seem to like the food.
Wainwrights is great its all natural with no additives like pedigree has.
I get a big 2kg bag for about £21 and it lasts. its a biscuit and if you wish to add some meat u can but its fine alone! very good food. i get it from pets at home.
In my experience, Purina is an awesome brand to feed your dog. Pedigree is also a really good brand as well. My last dog lived 16 years eating Pedigree, and also having some Alpo here and there.
My current dog is eating Purina, and she is very healthy, and her coat is great as well. Plus, Purina has a puppy formula and a dog formula, so its easy to transition your dog to the dog formula without switching brands.
I think Eukanuba brand is pretty good too, but that is much more expensive than these brands.
All I ask is to stay consistant with the brand, once you feed the dog a certain brand, you should probably stick with it. Constantly switching foods and having dietary inconsistancies throw off a dog’s digestion.
Also, if you are getting a new dog, check to see what brand they are currently eating. start off with that, and over a few weeks, begin mixing the new food into it to start converting the dog to the new food.
Like Week 1- 100% old brand
Week 2- 20% new, 80% old,
Week Three, 50/50
Week Four, 80/20
etc.
Most dogs can convert faster, those are the statistics for a slow conversion.
ALSO:
You can go to the PETSMART.COM website, and find the SmartNuitrition Selector, I say this because this link may or may not work.
My 8 month old mini schnauzer has been eating Eukanuba since the day I picked her up. I had 3 vets, plus the breeder tell me to feed her this, and she is doing very well on all check ups. She is lively, playful, her eyes are clear and bright, her coat is shiny and soft.
I fed my dog commercial dog foods and when she developed arthritis, I switched to a raw diet. Her symptoms disappeared and she acts 5 years younger. Her coat and teeth look amazing, and her stools are small and have no odor. My 1 1/2 year old is on it, too, and neither of my dogs ever has to visit the vet for any reason other than yearly check-ups. I would recommend the BARF diet to anybody who cares about their dog’s well-being.
If I hadn’t found this awesome site I would still be reccomending horrible junk in a bag. This site was created by a vet named Tom Lonsdale.
After viewing that site I started my dogs on pork necks, chicken wings and legs, beef ribs, whole fish,an occasional raw egg, and some table scraps. I have seen a really big chance in my dogs health. I really reccomend a diet of raw meaty bones for your dog too. I also started reading Lonsdale’s book called Work Wonders I am telling every dog owner who will listen!
I think the BARF diet is too complicated. All that pureeing, grinding, and pulping veggies is a waste since dogs are carnivores not omnivores.
NO grocery store foods!! Foods such as Science Diet, Pedigree, IAMS/Eukanuba, Purina are full of cheap fillers by products…despite claims on the bags and in ads they really have little nutritional value. Beneful, Kibbles N’Bits, Ole’Roy are the lowest quality foods..they are complete crap full of not only fillers by products but also dyes, chemical preservatives and sugars.
Dogs need food with a good meat base..foods whose first 2-3 ingredients are meats and that don’t contain corn, wheat or soy or by products.
Some real good choices:
Canidae, Wellness, Innova, Solid Gold, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul, Merrick just to name a few.
The better quality the food the less the dog will need to eat to get proper nutrition and the less waste you’ll be cleaning up.
Buying food because it is cheap is false economy.
