The usual age is 1… Talk to your vet at his next appointment. Good luck!
a year old!
You might try gradually switching to a new puppy food brand- they need puppy food until a year old.
1 year old. try a different brand or mixing a small amount of canned food in with what you have.
Once he gets to be his normal size, then you can.
1 yr old, they need puppy food for the development stages
put the dog on Nutro Max Puppy food, this is the only food I will feed my dogs, they thrive on it, and there is a stage of food for the life of the dog, they have baby bites for little dogs such as yours..
it makes for less stools, great coats and never dry skin,.
try it, the baby will like it.
you can also boil some white meat chicken, boneless skinless, a tiny piece each day will not hurt the dog, but do not stop the puppy food……….boil the chicken till really tender, tear it up in baby baby bites, and don’t feed alot, so the puppy wont get bloated tummy…and walk and exercise the dog well..
lots of good fresh cold water……..
and make sure the dog is on Heart-guard Plus, this is for heart-worms and also prevents hook worms, ask your vet and get the dog started on this asap.
Breeder/show/handler 15 yrs
around 1 year, or when you think he is fully grown.
try putting water in his bowl with the food.
only a little but mix it all together
my dog didnt eat his food and so we put some water in it, it makes it less crunchy and a different ‘gravy’ type for them,
yes – to the first answer – usual age is 1 – but depends on the breed (or majority of breed if it’s a mix).
Try a different food (If you’re using Lamb and Rice, then try Chicken and Rice, etc) – Also consider mixing with canned puppy food. Sometimes the runoff of ground beef or even a little ground beef mixed in is enough (not bacon grease!).
Puppy foods have higher protein and other nutrients that are necessary for your pup to develop all his systems at the pace and strength necessary to keep him healthy and live a long happy life.
Good luck!
if you are feeding him wet food you should not have a problem. but if you are feeding dry food you should put some water on it.
Typically when they are grown, and this varies considerably in breeds. If he has been eating fine until now, there could be reason for concern. Does he eat anything else, such as a doggie biscuit, or has anyone been feeding him anything else behind your back.
Cannidae has food for all ages so you wont have to switch;
plus it has no wheat, or corn, or fillers in it. very healthy.
ok you should make the change when ur dog is about a year old. but you should mix the puppy food with the adult food. for the first week you put 1/4 adult food and 3/4 puppy food…..then week2 put 50 50…then week3 75% adult food and finally the 4th week put all adult food. you should do this because if you change from puppy food to adult food in one day then your dog might get diarrea with the sudden change. good luck with ur lil’ terrier : )
