My dog refuses to eat dry dog food. He is an eight month old Maltese. He will eat wet dog food and prefers table food, of course. But I think he needs the dry food too. Does it matter if he doesn’t eat it?? I have bought EVERY brand out there and he refuses all of it.

Don’t tell me to make him eat it by not feeding him anything else. I will not do that. I think that is cruel. It’s like making a kid eat a veggie they hate. I just want to know if there is anything out there that actually tastes good to them and is healthy as well.

I have a new puppy and it used to eat this triangular kind of puppy food, royal something or other, but it wouldnt eat much. Right before we decided to change the food she got sick, and we took her to the vet, and the vet told us to giver her some rice and chicken , until she was all better. She got better very quick, and after that even ate some dry dog food. After she got better we decided to gradually change the dog food. So we put a lot of triangled ones and a couple of round ones which I think are (iams). She wouldnt eat neither. As a matter of fact she would pick them up place them on the floor and start playing, she really enjoyed playing with the round ones. So eventually I just picked it up and put it in my hand so she could eat it.

Now my dog will only eat from my hand and not the food bowl what should I do?

my dog has a skin irritation (theres yeast present) and she is on antibiotics and has to be bathed every 5 days with a special shampoo. My vet said try a different dog food but he didn’t want to prescribe anything yet. we’re doing meds first, but I do want to change her food. she’s eating Beneful for mature dogs now but that may be one of the causes. can anyone recommend a good dry dog food.
